The purpose of this document, which is a part of  the Buddhist Studies
WWW Virtual Library  and of the Zen Buddhism WWW Virtual
Library, is to provide comprehensive and factual information about
 the Denkoroku  (E. Transmission of Light) koan
collection as used in the Zen training. Any additional information, corrections or

About the 
Denkoroku (J.) (E. Transmission of Light) koans
Denkoroku (J.) (E. Transmission of Light, Account by the Monk Keizan
of the Transmission of the Light [Lamp]). A collection of 53 koans concerning
the circumstances of the Dharma transmission amongst the 53
patriarchs within the Ts'ao-tung  (Soto)  line of
Zen. A text attributed to the Zen master Keizan Jokin (1268-1325),
the fourth generation teacher of the Dogen's school of Soto Zen.
General structure of cases within the koan collection:
